Kimsey: U.K. IT Spending Up 10% for ‘04

LONDON--Trading room IT spending by sell-side firms in the U.K. is predicted to grow by 10 percent this year, with much of the money going to applications and the replacement of market data distribution platforms.

This is according to research from U.K.-based Kimsey Consulting, which says that a cyclical need by user firms to update technology and a possible start of the long-awaited recovery are the causes for optimism.
