Cusip Global Services wants to know, ‘What’s your damage?’

The evidence and discovery phase of the case against the identifier bureau is set to expire in March, bringing an anticipated jury trial one step closer.

The companies who are party to the ongoing action against Cusip Global Services and its current and former owners have been engaged in the discovery process since the summer of 2023, when a federal judge ruled that the anti-trust claims had merit. That process is set to end this March.

In these final weeks, the defendants—CGS, the American Bankers Association, FactSet, and S&P Global—asked the court to allow them to question 30 financial institutions on their use of Cusip data and alternative
