Kimsey: French Market to Recover

FRONT PAGE: TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES

LONDON—While most trading technology budgets are on hold in France, firms there are likely to ramp up their purchasing in about 18 months, according to a survey of firms recently completed by U.K.-based Kimsey Consulting.

Until spending jumps, however, Kimsey researchers estimate an increase of 0.1 percent in sell-side trading IT spend in 2004-05, in a market estimated to be worth €700 million (approximately $845 million).

The current situation aside, the survey shows hopeful signs for the future
