Research Would Suffer Under Regulation

The independent research market would suffer from regulation to outlaw soft commissions, but spending on broker research would drop much more significantly, according to a new study by Thomson Financial.

Thomson, which provides research and other content, surveyed 522 buy-side professionals last month to discover how they would react to various regulatory scenarios.
