Morgan Stanley Forms Global Risk Unit; New Systems Development Will Follow

Morgan Stanley & Co. is adding a layer of management to its current structure to coordinate and oversee all of its risk management products, services and trading activities around the world. The move is largely a strategic one for Morgan, officials at the firm say, and will eventually result in the development of new risk monitoring applications based on Morgan's TAPS back- office transaction processing system.
