ERI Opens Jersey Hot Site; Deal Solves A Salomon Problem

Exchange Resources Inc. (ERI) has opened the trading room hot site it built at Salomon Brothers Inc.'s Rutherford, N.J., data center. The launch of the hot site positions Salomon to make extra revenue off a technology facility that once looked to be half a white elephant: While Solly keeps its own back-up trading room in part of the Rutherford building, it leases the unused portion to ERI. And, in the so-called incentive-based deal the firm and the vendor struck, as ERI brings in more customers
