Goldman, Morgan Stanley Fund New Sybase Database Product
MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY
With funding from Goldman Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley & Co., Sybase Inc. has developed a database management system that is designed to provide shared access to distributed databases and to minimize downtime for their users.
Development of the system, called Replication Server, was driven by the fact that firms are increasingly faced with the task of maintaining a massive database, even though they use only small subsets of it for specific applications in specific locations.
