Today, it is users--not cutting-edge technologies--that should dominate plans for new trading floors, agree IS professionals from Morgan Stanley, Salomon Brothers, Smith Barney and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. The best way for IT executives to offset the risks inherent in building a new trading floor, they say, is to rally the help not only of technology staff, vendors and consultants, but to also seek input from traders and senior management.
