LONDON--Robert Fleming Asset Management opted to build its own FIX engine rather than buy a packaged solution off the shelf. That build-it-yourself approach is allowing Fleming to integrate external systems with its own in-house portfolio management and order management systems.
Fleming's internally-developed FIX engine, which doesn't have a go-live date yet, was engineered and built by Fleming's FIX system architect, Kevin Houstoun, and Fleming's director of business systems research, Andy
