FIX Encryption Working Group Reviews Security Options

NEW YORK--The FIX encryption working group is discussing various alternatives to beef up the security of the protocol as usage increases and transactional messages become more evident. Currently, the working group is analyzing several options for improving the protocol, including layering FIX over Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and providing full end-to-end encryption.

The working group is led by Charles Blauner, vice president of security and Internet architecture at JP Morgan, and includes security
