Salomon's Phibro Steps On To Next Platform For 500-Position Global Trading Operation

Phibro Energy Inc., a wholly owned and very independently operated subsidiary of Salomon Inc., has made a 500-position commitment to the NeXT Computer Inc. hardware platform. The NeXT step -- which sources say is valued at $5 million -- moves Phibro away from its parent's heavily Sun Microsystems Inc.-based technology path.
