International Business Machines Corp.'s long-awaited global trading architecture -- unveiled March 13 at the company's annual finance industry executive conference in Palm Springs, Cal. -- stops short of the scope of arch-rival Digital Equipment Corp.'s DECtrade. But the architecture -- dubbed DataTrade -- leaves open IBM's relationships with systems integrators and application software firms (TST, Dec. 18, 1989).
