Boston Options Exchange Launching Jan. 30

BOSTON--The Boston Options Exchange (BOX), a joint venture among Interactive Brokers Group, the Boston Stock Exchange (BSE), and the Bourse de Montreal (BDM), is set to launch Fri., Jan. 30, officials tell TTW.

BOX officials received U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval to operate on Jan. 14, over the objections of the existing U.S. options exchanges who oppose BOX’s three-second, price-improvement period (PIP) technology, suggesting it would lead to internalization by trading
