Even though the prevailing wisdom is that existing networks don't have the bandwidth or the memory capacity to support Internet Protocol (IP) multicasting--BankBoston (BKB) is celebrating its first year of successfully using Tibco's The Information Bus (TIB) with an IP multicast front end.
BKB uses the IP multicast version of the TIB to deliver real-time market data and trade orders to 228 traders and an additional 70 analysts and administrative staff. In addition, BKB sends derivatives rates
