CME Moves Up Globex Platform Upgrade

EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGIES

CHICAGO—The Globex trading platform of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will get a performance upgrade sooner than expected, while the start date for new butterfly-spread functionality has been pushed back, officials say.

CME moved up the start date for performance upgrades to June 28, rather than late in the third or early in the fourth quarter, says Charlie Troxel, CTO for CME.

The start is being moved up because of message traffic—the CME has seen 360 percent year-over-year volume growth
