NEW YORK--Rod Steel, Merrill Lynch Asset Management Group's (MLAMG) new chief technology officer, is eyeing a number of technology initiatives. These include increasing the firm's commitment to and use of the FIX protocol, finding a new trade order management system for Princeton, NJ-based Merrill Lynch Asset Management (MLAM) and integrating MLAMG's fixed income portfolio management system globally.
