IPC Acquires Reuters Voice Systems, Expands Market Share In UK, Europe

NEW YORK--IPC Information Systems intends to acquire the Reuters Voice Systems (RVS) business unit of Reuters Group PLC for an undisclosed amount, officials from both companies confirmed last week.
The deal will add to IPC's presence in the London and other European trading turret and networking/telephony services markets while ending Reuters' efforts to establish itself in this area, which began with Reuters' purchase of Wyatts in the mid-1980s.
