Sungard Enters STP Race With Mint Acquisition

NEW YORK--Sungard Data Systems has jumped into the race to provide one-stop shopping for straight through processing (STP) as a result of its acquisition of Mint Communication Systems' parent company, Oshap Technologies, for $210 million. Announced last week, the deal gives Sungard Data Systems the middleware it needs to help unify its trading and risk management products, while Mint will get the chance to expand at a much faster rate.
