Front-Office IT Gets Less Of The Budget Than Back-Office, According To Survey

SINGAPORE--A recent survey of IT professionals at banks in Hong Kong and Singapore indicates that while front-office IT is seen as more important, more money is being spent on back-office technology.

Not surprisingly, the survey found that front-office technology needs take precedence over the back and middle offices, respectively. However, only an average of 34 per cent of the IT budget is spent on the front office, while the back office gets an average of 47 per cent of that money.
