Reuters Lowballs Dow Jones, Wins Edward D. Jones News Contract

Edward D. Jones & Co. has awarded the contract to supply news to its 1,600 branches nationwide to Reuters Holdings PLC. The contract appears to be a major coup for Reuters. But sources say the U.K. news and market data vendor lowballed competitors, including Dow Jones & Co., with a bid to supply news to Edward D. Jones' branches for three years at a base price of less than $1 million.

CME: CFTC OKs clearing move to Google Cloud

The CFTC has given the Chicago-based exchange approval to run its clearing and settlement infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform, while the exchange and vendor have extended their partnership to last until at least 2037.
