Sale Of TCAM Systems Is In The Offing As Ascend Plans Merger With Lucent

VENDOR UPDATE

NEW YORK--As expected, Stratus Computer subsidiary TCAM Systems, a securities industry software and services provider, is about to be sold by Stratus' parent, Ascend Communications.

Bill Payne, TCAM's president, confirms that TCAM will be sold, in the "shorter rather than longer term". Details of the forthcoming sale are expected to be announced later this month.

Ascend, the Alameda, California-based network hardware vendor, is selling off its non-telecommunications businesses--TCAM, S2 Systems
