As Of Next Week, Xinhua To Take 7% Of Finc'l Info Vendors' China Revenues

China's official news agency Xinhua will begin exacting a seven-per cent cut of the gross revenues of all the financial information sold by foreign data and news vendors in China, effective 16 April. That's considerably less than the 40 percent figure cited by Xinhua officials when it first announced that it had been granted the authority to require foreign information vendors to enter into business agreements with it in order to continue doing business in China (D&IS, 29 January).
