Brown Brothers, Newbridge Sign Up, Optimark To Kick Off New, Anonymous Electronic Order System Linked To PCX

ELECTRONIC TRADING

The Pacific Stock Exchange (PCX) and more than 50 securities brokerages and institutions, including Brown Brothers Harriman and Citibank's Newbridge Securities, are beta-testing the Optimark Trading System, a patent-pending, anonymous order-matching system set to be launched next spring.

Durango, Colo.-based Optimark will initially cover large equity orders, and later will be expanded to handle options trading on the PCX and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. The Securities Exchange
