PHLX, Amex Embrace Wireless Wares

NEW YORK--Wireless systems from Parsippany, N.J.-based Micro Design Services (MDS) are driving several technology changes at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) and the American Stock Exchange (Amex). PHLX now has 125 users across 10 firms, 50 brokers, and 75 support personnel on the wireless Floor Broker Management System (FBMS), which debuted with a single firm, says Doug Shafer, first vice president of options development at PHLX.
