Reuters Fully Embraces Microsoft COM For All Future Desktop Development

LONDON--Despite recent forays into--and some commitment to--the world of Java, Reuters has now made a strategic decision to focus its future desktop development on Microsoft's Component Object Module (COM) object-oriented development environment. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is likely to play a role in Reuters' product plans as well.

The COM embrace is a clear move away from Java-based development, say observers.
