ASX Moves Options Trading Off Floor

SYDNEY--Australian stock options trading moved off the exchange floor and went electronic on October 31 as the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) brought its Derivatives Trading Facility (DTF) live.

In the first of a three-stage conversion to an electronic, order-driven market, the ASX launched 13 of its more than 50 option classes--with each class comprising 50 or more series of put and call options. The launch brings what has thus far been an 18-month long development and implementation process
