Merrin/Quotron, Thomson Systems Aim To Cut Errors In Back Office

Communication between the buy side and brokers is one trading activity that's remained comparatively unautomated. Not for much longer; at least not if Merrin Financial Inc., Quotron Systems Inc. and Thomson Financial Networks Inc. have their way.

At last week's Securities Industry Association meeting in New York, the companies introduced their respective systems: Merrin and Quotron announced their E-Trade joint venture, which handles order-routing, account allocation and confirmation messaging
