Montreal Exchange Upgrades LAN Cabling For Higher Bandwidth, Multimedia Access

The Montreal Exchange last weekend began the first phase of a cabling, network and phone system renovation project that is slated to be completed by year-end.

For this first phase, the exchange will be installing new, modular cabling that can readily accommodate moves, adds and changes, and also deliver higher bandwidth and multimedia.

Montreal Exchange currently has a mix of category 3 (16 megahertz), category 5 (100 megahertz) and coaxial cables, and will standardize on category 5.
