Bloomberg
has built interfaces to two real-time spreadsheet applications, Applix and Informix' Wingz. Under five-year agreements between Bloomberg and the two vendors, Bloomberg terminal users will be able to run the spreadsheets on their terminals, using Bloomberg's data to fuel their own calculations. Because it gives customers easier access to Bloomberg data without allowing that data to leave Bloomberg's own closed environment, the reseller agreements could help stave off customers' demandsOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
