Clarification: June 18 TST reported that Goldman Sachs & Co. and Salomon Brothers Inc. had not joined the start up of the National Association of Securities Dealer's Portal system for private placements. NASD officials confirm those firms had joined. Further, Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., Baring Securities Inc., Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc., Paribas Corp., Dillon Read & Co., JMT Securities Corp. and Deutsche Bank Capital Corp. had joined Portal as of June 28.
