First Boston Ends Procrastination, Signs Trading Technology Deals With Quotron, ADP

First Boston Corp. has begun to see the light at the end of the trading-room technology tunnel. Two weeks ago, the firm wrapped up a deal with Automatic Data Processing Inc., capping its longstanding efforts to put systems in three key areas -- fixed-income trading, equities trading and investment banking.

For a 260-position installation at its fixed-income trading room, First Boston picked Quotron Systems Inc.'s Trading Support System (TSS) running on UNIX-based Sun Microsystems Inc
