Osaka Securities Exchange Automates Stock Trading In Bid To Boost Volumes

OSAKA--Trading for all Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE) listed stocks will soon be conducted electronically, the exchange announced last week.

All but 134 of the 1300-plus stocks listed on the exchange are currently traded via the OSE's stock trading system, and these will be moved off the exchange floor by December.

Other instruments traded on the OSE, including government, corporate and municipal bonds will continue to be traded on the exchange floor--at least for the time being. The exchange
