There was little for Reuters to cheer about in 2002.The year was fraught with major challenges on all fronts. The world’s largest market data vendor endured a beating in the financial markets and saw its stock price drop to new lows. To offset a down economy, it embarked upon a huge cost-cutting program, heavy layoffs and complex product strategies that began to bite into Reuters’ business.
