Unlikely Union Between Chicago Board of Trade, Eurex Unravels

CHICAGO--The Chicago Board of Trade and Eurex continued to lock horns last week over the fate of the a/c/e (Alliance/CBOT/Eurex) derivatives trading platform. The dual-exchange platform, which is just under a year old, has been steadily tracking volume increases, including a record day June 4 when it hit 43,613 contracts, breaking the previous record of 43,292 set on May 29.

But a lack of communication between CBOT and Eurex (and within CBOT itself) has stymied further development of the system
