NEW YORK--Any review of 2001 must start with the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the terrible loss of life. To all of us in the financial services/market data businesses, it is unfathomable that so many friends, acquaintances and business associates began that day like any other and were never seen again. The devastation to their families is immeasurable. They have our sympathy and prayers.
