Quotron has embarked on an aggressive campaign to shift customers from its Q800 and Q1000 service to its IBM RS/6000- and PC-based Advantage line of data services. The upgrade program, called Fall Exchange, is part of the vendor's efforts to stem its recurring losses.

Effective Oct. 1, the vendor placed a ban on renewals of Q800 and Q1000 annual and multi-year service agreements. It also increased prices for users opting to keep their Q800 or Q1000 terminals on a month-to-month basis. Some 30,000
