Ever since Mike Bloomberg announced his candidacy for mayor of New York in June 2001, there has been speculation about what he might do with his 82 percent share of the company. From all outward appearances, he wants to keep it, but the rumors of Thomson Corp. wanting to acquire Bloomberg just won’t go away. Inaccurate reporting and misinterpretations have fueled the rumors, especially in the London press.
