Having lately completed rollout of its Microsoft Corp. Windows- and client/server architecture-based retail quote terminal network, PaineWebber Inc. is now looking for a new operating system to support its 10,000-plus brokers. Word of PaineWebber's unhappy experience with Microsoft's systems has emerged following a strong reaffirmation by the firm of its relationship with its quote service vendor -- Reuters' Quotron.
The news also comes on the heels of PaineWebber's absorption of the 2,400-odd
