IPC Buys Mxnet, Adding Data To Ixnet Unit

NEW YORK--IPC Information Systems has acquired Mxnet, a provider of market data platforms for smaller users, for $6.7 million. Mxnet had recently attracted the attention of Reuters (see related story, this issue), but IPChad aggressively pursued the company (IMD, March 2).

At an exclusive meeting with Inside Market Data last week, IPC executives outlined their plans for Mxnet. IPC, best known as a provider of traders' telephone turrets, will use Mxnet as the engine for aggregating various content
