LSE, Borsa Italiana to Use TradElect

The LSE announced on June 23 that it had reached an agreement to buy its Italian counterpart for e1.6 billion ($2.15 billion).

Both parties expect to deploy TradElect to the Italian cash equities market by mid-2008, say officials.

Migrating from Borsa Italiana’s current MTA cash equities trading platform to TradElect is a “key element” in the merger, says Massimo Capuano, CEO of Borsa Italiana and deputy chief executive of the combined group.
