Optimark's Delays Not The Real Issue, CSFB More Concerned With Service

NEW YORK--While its delays have garnered considerable media attention, the firms that have signed on to go live at Optimark's launch are seemingly less concerned about a date than they are about functionality.

Michael Clark, managing director and head of equity trading at Credit Suisse First Boston (an Optimark investor), says, "I don't think timing is a big thing." No, it's the system itself that he's worried about. "My feeling is that Optimark is too complex and cumbersome to use efficiently
