Morgan Stanley Buys Again: Triteal's Unix GUI And Lucid's Applications Development Tools

Morgan Stanley & Co. -- still known as a trading firm that prefers to build rather than buy its technology -- has made commitments to the software products of two Unix system vendors. Morgan will use both vendors' software products to support applications used by its nearly 2,000 traders worldwide.

Specifically, the firm has opted to extend its reliance on a so-called industry-standard Unix graphical user interface product developed by Carlsbad, Calif.-based Triteal Inc. Meanwhile, separately
