Westpac Set to Roll Deal Systems Across Asia But Nixes Info Platform for Three Centres

DEALING ROOM SYSTEMS

Westpac is set to roll its home-grown dealing system to its three Asian branches this fall. That system, called DCPK for Deal Capture & Position Keeping, runs on IBM OS/2-based PCs. It will be installed first in the bank's 24-position Tokyo operation and subsequently in the bank's smaller Singapore and Hong Kong offices. The bank also plans to cut its London office over to the DCPK system, which Westpac has long sought to market to other banks.
