BankBoston Deploys Five-Tier Architecture Using Iona's Orbix, Java Apps And Corba

BOSTON--BankBoston has deployed a new, five-tiered architecture that makes heavy usage of the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (Corba) object-oriented middleware as filtering layers for this revamped infrastructure of its capital markets division, says Mike Siegenfeld, BankBoston's director of derivatives and emerging markets systems.
The five layers of the new infrastructure are: the Java-based presentation layer; the Java-based application and business server layer; the C++ market data
