Nasdaq Licenses OptiMark's Technology, Traders Will Get Seamless Market Access

The licensing agreement announced last week by Nasdaq and OptiMark Technologies Inc. will let users of each system execute trades in the other. Coming as it did only two weeks after Nasdaq's filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on its proposed second-generation system (Institutional Trading Technology, December 12, 1997), the agreement suggests that a new era of trading technology is set to begin in the over-the-counter market.
