Reuters Trading System Has 1% Drop From Dealing Sales Slump & TFT Costs

REUTERS TRADING SYSTEMS

LONDON--Reuters' half-year results for 1999 show continuing tough market conditions affecting the core business, with the Reuters Trading Systems (RTS) division revenues eroded by declining Reuters Dealing product sales and higher costs at Tibco Finance Technology (TFT).

RTS revenues dropped 1 per cent at actual rates to £379 million (or approximately $599 million) and 3 per cent at comparable rates to £381 million (or $602 million) in contrast to the first half of 1998. Costs, on the other hand
