Traders, Regulators At STA Show Give Mixed Response To SelectNet

The National Association of Securities Dealers' recently announced SelectNet drew mixed responses at the Security Traders Association's annual conference in Palm Springs. The system drew praise for answering some regulators' concerns, but lamentations from traders on the exhibit floor for its lack of anonymity.
SelectNet is an NASD members-only, screen-based negotiation and execution network for trading NASD stocks (TST, Nov. 5). The system is an enhancement of NASD's Order Confirmation
