Steven Berkley, head of global fixed income indices at Lehman Brothers in New York, is something of a maverick. He was appointed as Lehman Brothers’ head of fixed income indices in the early 90s with a mandate to drive the business forward. And since that time the business has become the most widely used set of indexes globally.
