Internet Vendors Poached Data Execs; Will Clients Follow?

In 1997, Inside Market Data had 120 items that mentioned the Internet, in 1998 we had 169 and last year, 1999, we jumped up to 242 mentions. No surprise really as it seems that everyone, even the ‘old line’ vendors jumped on the Internet and ‘.com’ bandwagon in 1999.

By the end of this year however, the biggest threat to traditional vendors from Internet startups hasn’t been from the loss of its clients to Internet competitors--it’s been the loss of its key executives to these Internet startups
