Kx Systems Launches the Kdb/tick Database

VENDOR STRATEGIES

MIAMI--Kx Systems has launched its kdb/tick database, which can receive and store any type of historical and real-time financial market data, unlike Kx’s ktdb database, which only covers equities (IMD, Sept. 10). Users can analyze large volumes of data quickly and perform time-series queries.

"Using kdb/tick, the customer can now define their own relational schema. Before, our software was hard-coded for US equities," says Arthur Whitney, Kx Systems’ chief technology officer and co-founder.
